Conduct exploratory, generative, and evaluative research to inform the development of Moodle products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn research into actionable insights.
Responsibilities
- Involved in exploratory, generative and evaluative research, ensuring Moodle products meet the needs of educators, learners, and contributors.
- Design and conduct a variety of qualitative and quantitative research activities from usability studies and interviews to workshops and diary studies.
- Turn research into clear, actionable insights and ensure those insights reach the right people at the right time.
- Contribute to the evolution of our research practice by working with the Lead User Researcher to strengthen our operations and provide guidance on tools and methodologies.
Requirements
- Proven experience owning and running user research within product organizations.
- Background in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, or a related field such as Cognitive Science, Behavioural Economics, Anthropology, or Sociology β or equivalent practical experience and skills in these areas.
- Experience working in a technical environment with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers and product managers.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to quickly and effectively build strong relationships, trust and credibility with stakeholders.
- Experience working in a remote setting across multiple timezones in a distributed team environment.
- Familiar with working on existing, mature digital products.
- A passion for open-source, education and community-driven projects.
- Experience contributing to commercial product development.
