Design Principal

Principal/Architect Product Designer role at Copado, leading the design vision for AI initiatives and shaping the user experience of the AI platform.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clear and compelling ideas to stakeholders through documentation, reviews, and presentations
• Bridge design, product, engineering, and marketing teams
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and customer voices to create a product vision
• Generate detailed design specifications that inspire accurate developer builds
• Work with development and quality teams to deliver polished final products
• Promote and educate others on interface guidelines and design patterns
• Mentor design staff on designing for outcomes versus outputs
• Drive experimentation with AI tools and prototypes
• Set the vision for product creative identity and guide implementation
• Create inclusive designs for all users and advocate for accessibility

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience designing and delivering products from start to finish as part of cross-functional teams
• Experience designing for platforms where automation meets AI (Salesforce experience preferred)
• Deep understanding of user-centered design methods and best practices
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments while meeting tight deadlines
• Skill in exploring ideas, persuading others, and building consensus on projects with varying degrees of ambiguity
• Self-motivation and ability to produce results both independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and active listening skills
• Experience using analytics and user research to drive decisions and product iterations
• Ability to distill complex problems and develop elegant solutions
• Systems thinking approach that considers the entire user experience ecosystem
• Leadership qualities that inspire trust and followership
• Expert knowledge of design tools such as Figma and adaptability to new tools
• Experience developing globally accessible software for diverse users

• Experience with DevOps tools, methodologies, and understanding of user personas
• BA/BS or MA/MS in a design-related field, or equivalent experience
