Lead the end-to-end product design process for the customer-facing product, including user research, wireframes, and prototypes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create effective solutions and communicate design vision clearly.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end product design process of our customer-facing product including user research, wireframes, prototypes, flows, detailed design specs and QA
- Understand engineering and business constraints to create shippable solutions to users’ problems, and continuously validate the solutions with customers
- Lay out a design vision for what's possible by quickly iterating, knowing when to pay attention to detail and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes
- Communicate and present your work clearly and frequently to teammates and company leaders
- Take full ownership of your work, including communicating it to customers when releases happen
- Think both short- and long-term to meet near-term deadlines while iterating toward a future vision
- Facilitate alignment and vision exercises (e.g. design sprints, workshops, planning)
- Occasionally meet in-person with our customers to run workshops, attend field visits and learn about how our customers are leveraging Overstory in their day-to-day operations
- Occasionally attend industry events to keep an eye on competition, and learn about how our prospects and customers are thinking about leveraging disrupting technology
Requirements
- A strong portfolio featuring examples of interaction design work
- Experience working at an early-stage startup
- Demonstrated experience with end-to-end (hybrid UX and UI) product design for enterprise software
- Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams (product, engineering and design)
- Acute skill in turning complex into simple experiences for non-technical users
- Exceptional verbal, written and visual communication skills in a fast-paced environment
- Experience leading design sprints and building consensus around the best ideas
- A genuine passion for solving the climate crisis
