The UX Researcher will plan and conduct usability tests for various Rakuten Group services, identifying usability issues based on user behavior. They will create reports to guide service members in improving user experience and foster a culture of UX research within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • To understand each assigned project in depth and plan an effective and valid usability test
  • Design and create a web survey to recruit the right users for each project
  • Consider scenarios that test the natural experience of the product to be released
  • Conduct tests with as little bias as possible
  • Identify usability issues based on user behavior and comments during testing
  • Create reports that make it easy for the service members to understand the issues and to find ways to improve them
  • Present a final report to the service members and guide them in making improvements
  • Conduct in-depth interviews, questionnaires, field surveys, etc., depending on the research goal
  • Create a culture of UX research within Rakuten and create a framework for efficient operations (ResearchOps)

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with UX research (especially usability testing)
  • Ability to plan and promote effective and valid usability testing methodologies
  • Business level Japanese skills (reading, writing and speaking)
  • Ability to identify with the culture of the Rakuten Group
