The Staff Product Designer will lead design efforts across multiple teams, focusing on transforming client design cultures and ensuring project success. This role involves both product leadership and mentoring other designers to enhance their practices.

Responsibilities

  • Transform clients unfamiliar with design-thinking and user research into agile and empathetic problem-solvers
  • Hands-on work and mentorship around User Centered Design principles
  • Establish feedback loops through research and prototyping
  • Contribute to greater design consistency across products
  • Scale an organization’s research operations
  • Evaluate the user experience across an ecosystem of processes
  • Define project intake and portfolio strategy
  • Coach and mentor other designers
  • Create onboarding programs
  • Cultivate a learning environment where designers grow and thrive

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in product design, UX, or related field
  • Experience managing a team
  • Experience working with clients or stakeholders in a consulting role
  • Experience coaching & mentoring others in lean, agile and user-centric design practices
  • Deep experience in User Research and Service Design
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Experience leading product design from research through implementation
  • Experience designing different applications for different use cases
  • Experience using modern design systems and frameworks
  • Active leader in a design community
  • Ability to work on-site a few days a week in Colorado Springs, CO
  • Ability to travel occasionally for Rise8 company events
  • Currently holds a TS security clearance
