The Associate Product Designer will generate new opportunities to enhance the Hot Wheels brand and execute product design with a strong understanding of graphic design. They will collaborate with various teams to ensure product integrity and marketing objectives while presenting concepts to management.

Responsibilities

  • Actively generate new opportunities to enhance the brand.
  • Execute on Product Design with a keen understanding of Graphic Design.
  • Design and develops die-cast vehicles and / or advertised lines or segments.
  • Builds consensus between members throughout the design process.
  • Partner with Development Design, Engineering, Packaging and Cost Engineering to ensure product integrity and marketing objectives.
  • Regular communication with Asia partners.
  • Successfully present and communicate their concepts to the design and marketing management and creative departments.
  • Manage the early phases of design and development with other disciplines within the company.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years professional Design internship experience with Automotive design and/or toys, specializing in play patterns, hot toy and automotive trends and quick prototyping.
  • Must be proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and 2D computer programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Adobe Creative Suite proficiency.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD (Alias, Rhino 3D) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of material and manufacturing process.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Ability to project manage and problem solve.
  • Ideal candidate will exhibit interest and knowledge of the current trends.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong design excellence specifically of Automotive context.
