Senior Product Designer, Data Visualization

Design interactive visualizations that help users understand their cloud infrastructure. Collaborate with product designers, product managers, and engineers to translate business needs and user insights into effective designs.
Responsibilities
- Work with other product designers, product managers, and engineers to understand customer needs
- Design interactive visualizations shared across multiple Datadog products
- Design exploratory and explanatory visualizations alongside automated insights
- See design work through from start to finish: gain insights from user research, sketch ideas, build prototypes, and communicate with engineers
- Become an expert in visualizations and product area
- Communicate design work and support for design decisions across the company
- Work closely with engineering teams to understand how designs will be built
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in digital product design
- Experience building code-based prototypes with D3.js or similar visualization frameworks and knowledge of advanced design tools (e.g. Figma, or Framer)
- Portfolio includes a proven track record of designing visualizations for interactive web applications
- Excellent visual and written communicator
- Understanding of systems thinking and component-based design patterns
- Ability to give and receive feedback
