Digital Product Designers at Southern Glazer’s work on product portfolios, collaborating closely with senior designers. They are responsible for ideating, developing design concepts, and creating prototypes for validation.
Responsibilities
- Ideate and develop design concepts
- Understand the product's users and their needs and buying habits
- Lead problem-framing & ideation sessions
- Lead design concepting and storyboarding to map out ideas
- Create design hypotheses and explore divergent ideas and potential solutions
- Prototype and iterate: Create user flows, storyboards, high quality wireframes, low and high-fidelity design prototypes
- Rapidly transform concepts into functional prototypes for quick validation
- Collaborate with design researchers to continuously learn & iterate design work
- Present design work: Support design reviews with executive-level colleagues by creating prototypes and presentations
- Provide solid rationale for design decisions
- Make compelling and persuasive presentation of ideas, concepts, and in-progress design work
- Ensure design coherence and use the design system: Improve the quality of our digital experiences by using the design system and consistent interaction design patterns
- Apply brand guidelines consistently across mobile and web platforms
- Collaborate with product development: Appropriately inclusive of software development in the design process
- Collaborate with other designers, software engineering, analytics, and QA teammates to bring ideas to life and products to market
Requirements
- 4+ years of digital product design experience, inclusive of mobile app design, web design, and design systems
- 2+ years of experience designing enterprise-level e-commerce applications (web and/or native app)
- Portfolio inclusive of digital project work showing end-to-end experience: from ideation to launch
- Education or training in visual design, graphic design, or related field
- High level of visual design skills with ability to create polished, aesthetically pleasing interfaces
- Experience with brand development, implementation, and maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to work rapidly and efficiently, turning concepts into prototypes with quick turnaround
- Specialized experience designing for mobile app platforms (iOS and Android)
- Familiarity with the full digital product lifecycle, using product roadmaps, story mapping, writing design stories, designing features, direct collaboration with development teams
- Proficient knowledge of: Design & prototyping tools, Collaboration tools Global design systems, Responsive design best practices, Brand identity implementation and maintenance
