As a Lead UX Designer, you will focus on user experience and deliver compelling products for Minga's teachers and students. You will mentor other designers and drive projects independently while collaborating with the design and product development team.
Responsibilities
- Design Mentor: coach and guide other designers through regular critique, 1:1 mentorship, and paired work
- User-Centred Strategist: represent the user while driving alignment across teams
- Design Thinker: use design thinking to move through customer interviews, problem statements, solution hypotheses, rapid prototypes and high fidelity designs efficiently and without sacrificing quality
- Facilitator: facilitate design workshops for cross-functional teams and collaborate closely with product leadership and other UX designers to continuously improve Minga’s design practice
- Researcher: influence UX Design direction based on quantitative and qualitative user research techniques that inform everything from product innovation, to usability optimizations
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a UX Design role
- A portfolio that clearly shows your ability to lead design strategy, elevate product quality, and mentor others
- Strong communication and facilitation skills in design contexts (critiques, discussions, and presentations)
- Experience building and scaling design systems in SaaS or multi-user environments
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative user research techniques and the ability to leverage data to make and measure decisions
Key Skills
- Experience designing for the needs of K-12 SaaS platforms, including workflows involving multiple users, roles, and permissions
- Previous contributions to establishing and evolving a design system
- Experience in planning and setting up user research and synthesizing research insights
- An understanding of modern technology standards that affect user experiences (HTML, CSS, and Javascript etc.)
