The UI Designer will understand business and technical requirements, participate in design reviews, and translate wireframes into high-fidelity designs. They will also collaborate with developers to ensure visual fidelity and accessibility standards.
Responsibilities
- Discover & Define: Understand business and technical requirements provided by product and UX teams
- Discover & Define: Participate in design reviews and provide UI insights to support usability goals
- Design & Prototype: Translate wireframes and low-fidelity mockups into polished, high-fidelity visual designs
- Design & Prototype: Build interactive prototypes using tools like Figma
- Design & Prototype: Maintain and contribute to our design system to ensure consistency across products
- Validate & Iterate: Revise designs based on feedback from internal reviews and user testing
- Validate & Iterate: Assist with visual QA and design handoff to development teams
- Build & Deliver: Prepare specifications, redlines, and design assets for development
- Build & Deliver: Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure visual fidelity and accessibility standards
- Grow & Learn: Stay up to date with the latest UI trends and design technologies, particularly with AI
- Grow & Learn: Participate in team critiques, workshops, and skill-sharing sessions
Requirements
- Strong visual design skills in layout, colour theory, typography, and iconography
- Ability to evaluate and adopt new AI-driven design technologies
- Proficient with modern design tools (Figma preferred; Sketch, Adobe XD also acceptable)
- Understanding of responsive design principles and UI best practices
- Awareness of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and inclusive design practices
- Basic familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript is a plus)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across remote teams
- Passionate about great design and continuously improving the user experience
- Bachelorβs degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 1β3 years of experience in UI or visual design, preferably for web-based SaaS or enterprise products
- Portfolio of UI work that demonstrates a strong eye for visual detail, consistency, and clarity (please include link)
- Comfortable working in a fully remote, cross-time-zone team (US, Europe)
