As a UX Researcher at Principal Financial Group, you will lead research initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure user-centered design.
Responsibilities
- Use a diverse set of UX research practices to gain deeper insights into user motivations, needs, and decision-making processes.
- Translate research insights into actionable design recommendations that improve the intuitiveness, accessibility, and engagement of our products.
- Collaborate with customers, business partners, and leadership to gather feedback, align priorities, and communicate research plans.
- Use research insights to build shared understanding across cross-functional teams.
- Identify experience gaps and opportunities, lead research initiatives, and mentor team members by sharing research best practices and feedback.
- Promote UX maturity by facilitating discussions that build trust and common goals.
- Develop and manage UX research plans; deliver clear and persuasive presentations of findings, design concepts, and test results to diverse audiences, and ensure alignment with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience with familiarity with insurance and financial services products; experience with wealth management is preferred.
- 5+ years of professional experience with user research and testing tools (e.g., Maze, UserZoom, UserTesting.com), as well as web analytics (Google Analytics 4, Adobe Analytics), and behavioral analytics tools (e.g., HotJar, Contentsquare, MouseFlow).
- Familiarity with web and mobile prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, or Axure.
- Ability to design and evaluate user experiences that involve generative AI outputs and interactions.
- Excellent planning, problem-solving, analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate on cross-functional teams.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Design, or a related field.
- Ability to obtain relevant certifications (e.g., CUA or HCI) is a plus.
- Some travel, including overnight stays, may be required.
