Walker & Dunlop is seeking a UI/UX Designer to research and design digital products for the commercial real estate investment process.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Designers as well as other cross-functional partners, in the research and design of enterprise and consumer-grade financial applications
- Depending on the initiative, design may involve early concept mockups, component creation, and/or rapid iteration & prototyping
- Communicate design ideas and prototypes to stakeholders
- Craft meticulously defined design specs for development
- Design QA; Partner with developers to ensure designs are efficient to implement while providing redline specs prior to deployment
- Assist with enhancement and maintenance of the WDTech design system, ensuring flexibility of its use, but also simplicity in its implementation
- Build relationships with business stakeholders and the R&D org, to advocate for the user while balancing the needs and concerns of all involved
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Work hours are generally 8:30 am - 5:30 pm EST Monday through Friday
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing financial service applications
- Online portfolio of UI-focused work samples for web and mobile applications, including 2-3 detailed case studies
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or relevant work experience
- Experience working with a cross-functional team, partnering with users, product managers, UX designers, developers, and data scientists
- Experience working across organizational boundaries to define, manage, and prioritize work
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Responsive UI Design, Proficiency with modern design systems, Highly effective in Figma
- Truly embrace and enjoy solving complex business challenges
- Ability to flexibly balance multiple concurrent tasks/projects/initiatives
- Ability to propel design initiatives from concept, to wireframes, to approved and finalized design specs
- Comfort with varying levels of ambiguity
- Ability to navigate design, functional, and technical restrictions/limitations
- Excel at presenting work to a stakeholder. Garner feedback and collaborate on alternative solutions with humility
- Understanding of the limitations and capabilities of industry-standard technology such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Knowledge of frontend frameworks such as TailwindCSS & VueJS is also desirable, but not required

- Estimated base salary: $95,000 - $105,000 plus discretionary bonus
