Product Designer

Ashby is seeking a versatile designer with over 4 years of experience in product design for desktop SaaS to join their team, focusing on rethinking modern software design and enhancing the design process.

Responsibilities

• Consult for engineers on layout, typography, flows, etc.
• Dig into problems by consulting GTM, talking to customers, and requesting data to present confident assumptions.
• Use Figma to create visual artifacts for stakeholder alignment.
• Write specification docs that detail design proposals.
• Take ownership of larger product features, handling Jobs-To-Be-Done, navigation, IA, layout, and interaction.
• Incorporate customer feedback to build a usability backlog and propose projects for engineers.
• Consolidate and refine the design system for functionality, aesthetics, and best-in-class standards.

Requirements

• 4+ years of product design experience in desktop SaaS.
• Able to think from first principles, breaking down complex user problems.
• Strong skills in layout, navigation, IA, UI, and interaction design.
• Strong visual design skills with an obsession for craft and details.
• Bonus: Experience at an early-stage startup or as a solo designer on a team.
