Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer / Design Engineer / Product Design Engineer required to join a manufacturer in Richmond, IN.

Responsibilities

• Improve the performance and design of existing products and oversee production and packaging of final products
• Use computer-aided design (CAD) to design concepts
• Design, model, and test prototypes for new products
• Oversee prototype development and confirm designs with purchasing/customer team
• Create concepts to meet the production capabilities of the company
• Ensure components and assemblies adhere to industry and customer standards
• Create parts lists
• Establish design briefs as well as organize and maintain engineering records

Requirements

• Engineering degree or higher education in Mechanical Engineering
• 3+ years of experience in a similar position e.g. Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer / Product Design Engineer
• Experience and working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D modelling and 2D drawings
• Knowledge and experience in metal fabrication processes
• Commutable to Richmond, IN
