Staff Product Designer

Topstep is seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives that define user interactions with their platform. The ideal candidate will set design direction, elevate design quality, and mentor designers to shape the user experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of complex user experiences across workflows and systems
• Set strategic direction through frameworks, vision work, and design principles
• Partner with product and engineering leaders to define roadmaps and scope solutions
• Translate user insights into compelling experiences
• Mentor designers across the team
• Contribute to evolving the design system and scaling design standards
• Present and advocate for design decisions at the leadership level

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in UX, product design, or interaction design
• Track record of leading large-scale design initiatives
• Strong systems thinking to connect patterns and simplify complex flows
• Fluency in turning research insights into actionable direction
• Expertise in collaboration and influencing cross-functional decisions
• Strong communication skills
• Passion for elevating design quality and mentoring others
