Join Dometic as a Senior Product Designer in Greenbrier, TN, leading product design from concept to production. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior designers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end product design process from concept to production
  • Utilize CAD and CAE tools to create, refine, and optimize product designs
  • Conduct structural, thermal, and mechanical simulations to validate design feasibility
  • Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams to develop cost-effective, manufacturable solutions
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers
  • Conduct design reviews, feasibility studies, and material selection based on performance, durability, and sustainability
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, materials, and technologies
  • Assist in prototyping and testing to ensure all products meet quality and performance standards
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of design iterations, specifications, and processes
  • Support the intellectual property (IP) process by contributing to patent applications

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED; associate degree in design and/or certificate in design strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo
  • Strong experience with CAE tools like ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar for structural and thermal analysis
  • Extensive experience in product design, preferably in consumer goods, automotive, or outdoor living industries
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, including injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing
  • Strong knowledge of materials and their properties, including plastics, metals, and composites
  • Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to convey design concepts and solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
